Doug Craig, Principal
Following his attendance at the University of Colorado and CSU Stanislaus, graduating with a degree in Physical Science, Mr. Doug Craig has worked in education for 31 years. He taught Physics, Physical and Earth Science for 15 years and was a part of the original Laguna Creek High School Planning Committee. Mr. Craig is in his 15th year as Principal of Laguna Creek High School and feels privileged to work with such an excellent staff while serving the wonderful students and parents of the Laguna Creek community.
Rose Penrose, Vice Principal
Ms. Penrose joined the LCHS administrative team in 2010-11 as the program coordinator of the ASSETs After School Program and has been serving as Vice Principal since November 2011. Ms. Penrose has over 20 years of education experience, which includes nine years as a Language Arts and ELD teacher at both the high school and middle school level. She was the Activities Director for three years and a Journalism Advisor for two years. Ms. Penrose also spent several years working with education politics and policy at the state level before becoming a teacher. She has a Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Davis and a Master of Arts from California State University, Sacramento. This year, Ms. Penrose will be working with the English, Strategies, and Industrial Tech departments.
Richard Gutierrez, Vice Principal
Mr. Gutierrez recently joined the LCHS administrative team on July of 2015. Mr. Gutierrez has over fifteen years of experience in education and student services, six years of experience as a high school administrator, and one year as the interim-director for the English Learner and Migrant Services program. He earned his first Master’s Degree in Education at California State University of Fresno and his second Master’s Degree in Administration Leadership at San Jose State University. This year, Mr. Gutierrez will be working with the Social Studies, Strategies, Business Tech and VAPA departments.
